The stipulation of the "posthumous ten-year policy" is a legal obligation for the manufacturer; this indemnity insurance policy must be stipulated:
for public works (see Legislative Decree no. 50 of 18 April 2016 - Code of Contracts and related update of Legislative Decree 56/2017 and subsequent amendments) for private residential construction works (see Law 210/04 and Legislative Decree 122/05 and subsequent amendments).
The "posthumous ten-year policy" covers material and direct damage to the property, resulting from total or partial ruin, for serious construction defects or for ground defects, which occur in the 10 years following the signing of the sale contract. More and more clients, even for large private works, contractually require these guarantees.
